Biography

Bruno Charbonneau is Professor and Director of the Centre on Security and Crisis Governance (CRITIC) at the Royal Military College Saint-Jean. He is the founder and Director of the Centre FrancoPaix en résolution des conflits et missions de paix of the Raoul-Dandurand Chair at the Université du Québec à Montréal. He is an Deputy Editor of the Canadian Military Journal. His work focuses on international interventions in armed conflicts. In particular, he studies the regional and international dynamics of conflict management and resolution in Francophone West Africa. He is currently developing a NATO-supported project on climate security and the effects of the climate crisis on conflicts and interventions. His research has been funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie, and Global Affairs Canada, among others. He has collaborated with various agencies of the Canadian, US and French governments, the UN, the EU, the G5 Sahel and the OIF.
