The chair
Established through a collaboration between the Director Reserve Force Knowledge Management and the Office of the Dean of Research at RMC Saint-Jean, the Research Chair on Reserve Force aims to develop and structure a research program dedicated to the organizational and operational challenges facing the Primary Reserve within the Canadian Armed Forces.
By leveraging the expertise of RMC Saint-Jean faculty researchers and bringing it together with that of scholars from other institutions and disciplines, the chair will position our military university as a leading centre for the study of civil-military relations.
The Research Chair on Reserve Force will generate in-depth knowledge about a force that represents nearly one third of Canada’s military personnel, support strategic decision-making at a time when the Reserve Force is expected to grow significantly, and propose practical solutions to current challenges. It will serve as a bridge between the academic and military communities, while also providing a valuable learning environment for our naval and officer cadets who wish to develop their research skills and gain a deeper understanding of the role played by the Reserve Force.
