In Quebec, grant holders from the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ) must subscribe to the ethical standards adopted in the policies of responsible conduct of research for each of the Fonds (FRQSC, FRQNT, FRQS) as well as best practices in research ethics, depending on the context of the research.
At the federal level, recipients of grants from federal councils (SSHRC, NSERC, CIHR) are subject to the standards set out in the Tri-Council Joint Policy Statement with respect to research involving human beings.
